
I’m running an ADS-B receiver for about 4 years now (almost non-stop!) and I got a pretty good signal with ranges up to 350KM (215miles). I will give you a look on my setup in this blog post.
I’m running this on a RTL-SDR stick (just a cheap Realtek RTL2832/R820T receiver from china) and a raspberry PI with dump1090 software on it.
I made a full-wave coaxial collinear antenna (same as this guy) tuned and modified it a bit more and mounted it on my roof with a free line of sight.
